Firefighters from Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety, Fire District 44, and Puget Sound Fire were dispatched at 11:30 p.m. Thursday to a detached residential garage fire in the 20600 block of Southeast 276 Street.
When the first units arrived, they found the 1,200-square-foot garage fully involved with flames and worked to contain the fire to the building where it started and not let it get to several sheds and a home that were nearby.
The firefighters were successful in keeping the other structures safe, but the garage was destroyed by the fire.
The residents were home at the time of the fire, but were not injured.
The fire is under investigation.
