Kent-based Lucy’s Enterprises, Inc, is recalling approximately 13,776 pounds of frozen, ground chicken products that may contain “foreign materials,” according to a press release from the US Department of Agriculture.
State regulators are asking the courts to shut down a Kent-based moving company that they say is operating illegally within state borders.
The Washington State Utilities and Transportation Commission is seeking to shut down operations at All My Sons Moving and Storage because the company is continuing to handle intrastate residential moves despite the November 2008 revocation of their permit to do so.
At a time when many businesses in the region and state are announcing layoffs and closures, the Kent School District is in the opposite boat, unable to permanently fill about 30 professional positions within the district.
The Kent School Board Wednesday officially and unanimously appointed Dr. Edward Lee Vargas as Kent’s next superintendent.
The district on Monday announced the board had narrowed its focus to Vargas, but the vote at the top of the Feb. 25 board meeting sealed the deal.
