Kent Police vehicles to carry defibrillators

Kent Police plan to equip each patrol car in April with an automated external defibrillator (AED) to help respond to cardiac arrest calls along with emergency medical responders.

Kent-Meridian football coach Roberts steps down

With a heavy heart, Trevor Roberts stepped down from the helm of the Kent-Meridian High football program late Friday afternoon. "This ranks as the No. 1 toughest decision I've ever had to make," said Roberts, who spent three years at Kent-Meridian. "I love Kent-Meridian. I love the kids and I am proud of the work we put in. I could not have asked for more from the coaching staff and the administration."

Kent offers neighborhood grants; deadline is coming up

The City of Kent announces the return of its Neighborhood Matching Grant Program for 2010. Designated to stimulate community projects that build strong neighborhoods, grants are available to groups of residents who have formed Neighborhood Councils.

Charles Wells had two goals and an assist Tuesday night at CN Centre to lead the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 6-3 victory over the Prince George Cougars. These two teams will meet in a second game on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. at CN Centre. The T-Birds took a 1-0 lead at 15:25 of the first period on the 16th goal of the year from Wells. Colin Jacobs and Brenden Dillon had assists on the goal.

Kent Police chief to speak at Kent Chamber Luncheon

The Kent Chamber of Commerce will have its March membership luncheon 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 3 at the Meridian Valley Country Club, 24830 136th Ave. S.E.
