Girls Basketball: Kent-Meridian downs Kentridge for big win

The Kent-Meridian girls basketball team ended an emotionally rugged week Friday night in the best possible manner – with a win. Behind another standout performance from senior Briana Shannon, who scored a game-high 29 points, the Royals held off Kentridge 58-45 in a South Puget Sound League North Division game.

Kent motorcyclist injured in Highway 18 accident

An 18-year-old Kent motorcyclist was critically injured at about 5:37 p.m. Sunday after colliding with a disabled car parked near the shoulder along eastbound Highway 18, just south of the Southeast 304th Street exit in Auburn.

The Kent Predators new pro indoor football team hired Brian Brents Thursday as vice president of operations. In the industry, he's a known quantity, not to mention a major coup for Kent. He was the 2009 Indoor Football League coach of the year for the expansion El Paso Generals last season.
