The city of Kent hosts a free training workshop on the city’s Business and Occupation Tax (B&O) from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15 in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 220 Fourth Ave. S.
According to city auditor Robert Goehring, CFE, CPA, the workshop is designed to help businesses understand the city’s B&O tax reporting responsibilities.
“Participants will learn about B&O tax reporting classifications, exemptions, deductions, gross receipts and square footage tax and how to file online,” Goehring said. “Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions about taxes that apply to specific businesses.”
