Downtown Kent is aglow again after volunteers from the Kent Downtown Partnership recently replaced lightbulbs along the rooflines of businesses.

The lighting was originally installed about 10 years ago in partnership with the City of Kent, but the bulbs have since burnt out and needed to be replaced.

The project to replace the bulbs was led by Mike Miller, co-chair of the KDP’s Economic Development Committee, with help from Greg Haffner, KDP president; Kevin Jussel, Economic Development co-chair; and Randall Smith, KDP president-elect.

One goal of the lights is to help make the area safer at night, according to a KDP press release.
