Nine individuals or businesses were honored as winners of the annual Business Leadership Excellence Awards by the Kent Chamber of Commerce.
The awards are given to recognize and applaud the exceptional leadership, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit that member companies and their employees embody and share with the Chamber and the community.
The following award winners were announced at the President’s Banquet April 30 at the ShoWare Center:
Ambassador of the Year – John Schneider of Edward Jones
Best Practices – Smith Brothers Farms
Company Citizenship Award – Kent Station
Educator of the Year – Kent Community Foundation
Economic Engine – Oberto Sausage Company
Government Employee of the Year – Steve Strachan
Innovator of the Year – (tie) Kent Station Family Dentistry and World CNG
President’s Award – Jim Berrios of Golden Steer Steak & Rib House
Robert E. Lee Award – Charlotte Nitschke of Community Magazine Shopper
