Kent Community Foundation grant and scholarships award dinner is June 9

The Kent Community Foundation, the non-profit affiliate of the Kent Chamber of Commerce, announces the annual Foundation Grant and Scholarships Awards Dinner, which takes place June 9 at the Golden Steer Steak & Rib House. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner and program will at 6:30 p.m.

The Kent Community Foundation, the non-profit affiliate of the Kent Chamber of Commerce, announces the annual Foundation Grant and Scholarships Awards Dinner, which takes place June 9 at the Golden Steer Steak & Rib House. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner and program will at 6:30 p.m.

Organizers will award Linda Ruby scholarships to graduating seniors and previous winners already in college planning on teaching careers. Single scholarships will be awarded to a graduating senior from the East Hill Community Organization Fund for a student planning on attending a two-year or vocational-technical school in Washington; from the Rob Osborne fund for a Kent-Meridian student athlete planning to go to a two- or four-year college in Washington; from the Wes Soderberg fund for a senior planning to attend a two- or four-year school majoring in art; from the Richard and Ina Balash fund for a senior residing in Covington planning on business or engineering training; and from the Covington Chamber of Commerce fund for a senior residing in Covington. Grants will be awarded to School District and community organizations supporting education and the cultural arts in the greater Kent and Covington communities.
