Kent Farmers Market is expanding; opens June 5

Starting June 5, the popular venue for fresh produce, baked goods and other items will extend along Second Avenue, starting at Smith Street, and continuing to Gowe. That new arrangement adds a full block of vendor space. Second Avenue will be closed to traffic, but Meeker Street will stay open.

Starting June 5, Kent Farmers Market, the popular venue for fresh produce, baked goods and other items, will extend along Second Avenue, starting at Smith Street, and continuing to Gowe. That new arrangement adds a full block of vendor space. Second Avenue will be closed to traffic, but Meeker Street will stay open.

The Kent Farmers Market is organized by the Kent Lions Club, in conjunction with the Kent Downtown Partnership.

The market runs 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday, starting June 5 and running until Sept. 25. Learn more: www.kentfarmersmarket.com.
