Sleep Country’s Foster Kids program is celebrating a record-breaking year bringing in 140,400 donations, a more than 13,000 increase over last year, the Kent-based company announced this week.
Sleep Country hosted six annual drives at its more than 80 stores throughout the Northwest to collect essential material items for the region’s nearly 20,000 foster children.
And this year, the company is taking another step to make contributing even easier with the launch of its DonorDrive platform.
The new website allows donors to create their own personal campaigns to raise money online. These funds are then used to purchase essential items in conjunction with the current Sleep Country Foster Kids program drive. Participants have access to a set of tools so they can seamlessly and securely collect funds, share their campaign with friends and track their success.
Donors also have the ability to host their own collection drives. To make it simple, the company’s Host-A-Drive page provides template emails, social media posts and posters they can utilize. Items collected during these drives are distributed among the Northwest’s foster youth through Sleep Country’s partner foster care organizations located throughout the region.
Through March 2, Sleep Country is hosting its Pajama Drive for Foster Kids. Those interested in giving back can donate at any Sleep Country store or visit the Foster Kids program website.
