Umpqua Bank, a subsidiary of Umpqua Holdings Corporation, has named David Thomas vice president and commercial relationship manager for the South Puget Sound region. Working out of the Kent Commercial Banking Center, Thomas will be responsible for managing commercial loans and banking services for businesses in the region, with a special emphasis on the Tacoma commercial market.
Thomas has more than 30 years of banking experience. Before joining Umpqua, he served as an assistant vice president for Wells Fargo and a vice president for Venture Bank, where he specialized in commercial banking.
Thomas is also an active member of the community. He has served as a board member of the Tacoma Rotary No. 8; past president and past board member of the Fife Area Chamber of Commerce; past president and past board member of the American Heart Association, Pierce County Affiliate; and board member of the Tacoma Coalition for Individuals with Disabilities. Thomas earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from the University of Puget Sound.
