Well, it being the season, our daughter lil’ Abby is once again looking forward to the Morford Family Carousel. You’ll find it just south of Kent Station. Put it on your holiday list to enjoy this treasure the Morford Family has donated for use by (us) children of all ages!
What a legacy this represents! For all you engineer types, these are no common mechanics – this is Italian, for gosh sakes! It’s a classic Venetian-style carousel with 19 painted, carved horses and three special seats, designed by the famous Bertazzon Carousel Company of Italy. Mamma mia!
I don’t say it lightly, either, of the Morford family involvement. Paul Morford and his adult children have another long legacy – involvement in building homes that ordinary people like my wife Crystal and I live in. In returning to Kent in 1996 after living elsewhere for nearly 20 years, we were so very fortunate to find what we have long referred to as “our little slice of heaven. “
I think this year especially I wanted to use this mention of the carousel as an opportunity to thank Paul Morford and his family for this house they’ve built that has so long been our home.
Happy Holidays, all
