It is time to ban fireworks in Kent. This past Fourth of July was like an arsenal around the corner from our house.
I would suggest that if people really enjoy mortar fire that they join some of the U.S. soldiers in Iraq.
Because of the direction of the wind, much of the debris blew into my back yard and my neighbors’. What really angers me is the amount of debris that landed on our roof. As a result, I will have to hire a company to remove it from the roof.
Although we are not in a high density development, our homes are still much too close together for such powerful explosives.
There are many ways to enjoy the Fourth: Lake Meridian puts on a great display; the Freedom Fair in Tacoma is a great family event with an airs show, rides for kids and fireworks; Emerald Downs has fireworks, or the ones in Seattle and Bellevue.
Let’s keep our neighborhoods safe and ban fireworks in Kent.
