City officials to blame in botched park deal

After reading about the boondoggle of the Pine Tree Park debacle, as a taxpayer, I often question how many similar situations are looming out there that the new administration will have to undertake.

After reading about the boondoggle of the Pine Tree Park debacle, as a taxpayer, I often question how many similar situations are looming out there that the new administration will have to undertake.

This huge cost to the taxpayers of the Pine Tree Park could be a “drop in the bucket” compared to other hidden cases that the city is not disclosing. This case and the money it has stolen from the taxpayers is a direct result of the mayor (who recently was given a pay raise) and City Attorney Tom Brubaker. There is no way they were not aware of the conditions on the Pine Tree Park property when they agreed to sell it. It is absurd to attempt to place blame on the county. It is my opinion that action be taken against the mayor and the city attorney.
