This “old fogey” takes exception to Ms. Little’s assertion that personal fireworks only occur for a day or two a year (“Disappointed with vote to ban fireworks”, letter to the editor, Kent Reporter, March 4).
We contend with the noise a week or two before and after July 4, as early as 4 a.m. this past year, and New Year’s Eve. A volley of explosions for every single point the Seahawks make, as well as multiple occurrences throughout the year that don’t correlate to any events we are aware of, such as the evenings of March 4 and 5.
So yes, the “old fogies” of this household voted for the ban since the adults using the fireworks have demonstrated year after year their unwillingness to consider others.
