The Kent Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted unanimously this week to endorse and support a strategic alliance between Valley Medical Center and UW Medicine.
Valley Medical Center is the largest nonprofit healthcare provider between Seattle and Tacoma, operating a full-service hospital, emergency room and Level III trauma center, and more than two dozen primary care, walk-in urgent care and specialty clinics throughout southeast King County.
Under the strategic alliance UW Medicine, which operates Harborview Medical Center and the University of Washington Medical Center, would work with Valley to expand health care programs and likely add to the physician-training programs at Valley. This alliance would increase access to additional healthcare services and comprehensive care for south King County residents.
The economic impacts of this alliance are far reaching and we are excited about the enormous opportunities for Valley Medical Center to further their ability to provide improved comprehensive care for the residents of South King County.
We applaud the foresight and vision of those who created the foundation of this strategic alliance.
