When I read the current “Letters…Your Opinion Counts” section of my Kent Reporter I felt compelled to write regarding the overwhelming number of letters bashing the ShoWare Center and the Lingerie League it is hosting.
C’mon on people, did you even look at the picture featuring the Lingerie League on the cover of the Reporter before you all swore off the ShoWare Center and the city of Kent?
The women are dressed in full-coverage bras and boy shorts designed to look like underwear. It is not pornography, they aren’t wearing thongs and see-through bras and the women don’t seem to be humiliated or embarrassed as one reader states.
In fact, they seem to be dressed in about as much clothing as a regular cheerleader you’d find at any organized sporting event.
Readers are eager to call this trash and that the City of Kent is now tarnished by this league.
Maybe they should wake up and realize that the only trash in this city is that by the roadside near the highway exits into their precious City of Kent and maybe they should move their focus onto cleaning up the real trash.
