Mayor Cooke is a positive presence in our community

We heartily agree with the letter from Marianna Klon regarding Mayor Suzette Cooke ("Mayor Cooke deserves better than your attack," Kent Reporter, May 16).

We heartily agree with the letter from Marianna Klon regarding Mayor Suzette Cooke (“Mayor Cooke deserves better than your attack,” Kent Reporter, May 16).

At every community function we attend, she is present. Her smile and her interest in residents of all ages is genuine.

Case in point – on May 4, five Boy Scout members of the same patrol in Troop 480 celebrated at their Eagle Scout Court of Honor. The recipients of the prestigious award, Nicholas Cresia, Austin Ingraham, Brian Kiehn, Neil McDonough and Logan Stoick, witnessed Mayor Cooke sincerely taking part in the ceremony.

If we want our community to be positive, let’s devote front page news to uplifting and encouraging events and leave private matters to the gossips.
