Having attended six events at the ShoWare Center over the past year, ranging from sports to fundraisers to Chamber of Commerce meetings, I wanted to commend the city for the magnificence of the facility.
The staff has always been courteous and clearly well-trained in customer service while maintaining order in what can be pandemonium during busy events.
The variety of activities and attractions ShoWare brings to our community is impressive. My first visit was during the You, Me, We festival last year, a free event put on by the Kent Parks Department in partnership with many community organizations getting families in touch with the wide array of programs available to youth and families in the area (and coming up again soon on March 4).
Everything from the architecture of the building to the flow of parking has been consistently impressive during my visits.
There have been bumps along the way in helping ShoWare live up to its promise. But if my experience as a consumer is any indication, I hope the city and the community are proud of this investment and continue to utilize it to build hometown pride.
