Amen for writer Walter Backstrom.
Hopefully my thoughts might help parents to think and enable children and teens to cooperate. Children and teens should not carry cellphones, etc., to school. Life has nothing to do with gadgets that enable students to behave covertly in school, shut out people and peers around them, and teachers.
Come clean, teens. Do you appreciate the opportunities to learn? Do your parents have to make an appointment to speak with you? Is the dinner hour sacred, for family prayers, for the shared abundance on the table? Is gratitude saved for Christmas and successful trips to the Mall with credit cards?
Parents, do you carry a moral compass, teach your children more than doing the right thing, but direct attention more to the God who created them? Is Sunday observances an important matter? If human beings spent as much time with God as done for TV and music blaring, this great nation might recognize its ultimate destiny.
Hopefully, this letter will be recognized as a way to live a more peaceful life.
