Support, appreciate our fire departments

Residents of Kent, Covington, Fire District 37 and SeaTac have a lot to be proud of in their fire department.

Residents of Kent, Covington, Fire District 37 and SeaTac have a lot to be proud of in their fire department.

The Kent Regional Fire Authority (RFA) is one of only six internationally accredited fire departments in the state of Washington. It has an accredited vehicle fleet and fleet service, which is called upon to provide service to other jurisdictions in King County.

Its innovative “FD Cares” program provides quality care to residents who are in frequent need of medical services, while reducing their trips to hospital emergency rooms.

While the RFA’s calls for service have increased substantially over the last few years, its operating budget has not significantly increased. With all of the problems facing our communities, let’s not forget to celebrate and give thanks for something in our community that is working well.
