Annual Kent Winterfest set for Saturday, Dec. 7 at Town Square Plaza

Food trucks, parade, music, tree lighting part of 2 to 7 p.m. festival downtown

The city of Kent’s annual Winterfest celebration is set for 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at Town Square Plaza, Second Avenue North and West Smith Street.

The event includes food trucks, community booths and local craftspeople, a parade, performances by local students, Santa, the tree lighting and more.

Stage schedule:

• 2:30-3 p.m. Kentlake High Jazz Band

• 3:15-3:45 p.m. Kentlake High Choir

• 4-4:30 p.m. Spotlight Dance

• 5-5:25 p.m. Northwood Middle School

• 6-6:45 p.m. School of Rock

Bring your camera to take a picture with Santa. He’ll be there from 3:30 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Drop off your holiday wish list in Santa’s mailbox. Bring your own (include your mailing address if you want Santa to write you back) or fill out a postcard in Santa’s tent (postcards are available onsite).

Story time and crafts at Kent Library will run from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

The Winterfest Parade is at 4:30 p.m. The parade starts at Second Avenue South and West Saar Street, goes east to First Avenue South, goes north to West Meeker Street; west to Ramsay Way and heads north to finish at Kent Station.

The tree lighting is at 5:30 p.m.
