For the Reporter
The Harlem Globetrotters salute the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks and their fans this weekend at four Seattle area games when the team wears special No. 12 jerseys.
The Globetrotters, as part of their 2014 “You Write the Rules” World Tour, play at ShoWare Center (doubleheader, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday), Comcast Arena in Everett (2 p.m. Sunday) and KeyArena (Presidents’ Day, 2 p.m. Monday).
The Globetrotters also have invited Seahawks coaches and players to take part in the celebration.
“Our organization would like to salute the NFL champion Seahawks and their fans throughout the weekend with a special tribute,” said Globetrotter Showman Hi-Lite Bruton, who will trade in his regular No. 26 jersey for a No. 12. “The enthusiasm of the Seahawks fans, the 12th Man, is inspiring.”
The Globetrotters’ North American tour will see the team play 300 games in more than 250 cities in 48 U.S. states, six Canadian provinces and Puerto Rico through April 2014.
