Check out International Guitar Night, North America’s premier traveling guitar festival, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Kent-Meridian Performing Arts Center, 10020 SE 256th St.
The festival brings together the world’s foremost acoustic guitarists to perform their latest original compositions and exchange musical ideas in a public concert setting. Each tour, a new cast of guitar luminaries come together for a special evening of solos, duets and quartets that highlight the virtuosity and diversity within the world of acoustic guitar.
On this tour, Gypsy Jazz legend Lulo Reinhardt will serve as host and artistic director. He will be joined by three new, incredibly dynamic musicians: Italy’s innovative contemporary guitarist Luca Stricagnoli; brilliant young Brazilian composer/performer Chrystian Dozza, and India’s ground-breaking slide guitarist Debashish Bhattacharya.
Tickets are $28 general admission, $25 senior and $15 youth. For tickets to the city of Kent Spotlight Series event, go to kentarts.com or call 253-856-5051.
