Now in its third year, an Evening of Jazz and Art in Kent will run from 4-8 p.m. June 24 at the Kent Senior Activity Center, 600 E. Smith St.
The free concert on the south lawn of the senior center will feature Seattle-based Pearl Django from 5-6 p.m. followed by Kent saxophonist Darren Motamedy from 7-8 p.m. Concert goers can bring their own outdoor chairs, blankets and umbrellas. The event is presented by the city of Kent and the Kent Arts Commission.
The evening also features a juried fine art show and a Kent Valley Artists exhibition. Jazz pianist Richard Dean will play during the art show from 4-5 p.m. and 6-7 p.m.
Complimentary tickets are available starting at 4 p.m. for a free boxed dinner to be served beginning at 5 p.m. No tickets are needed to watch the concert. For more information, call the senior center at 253-856-5164.
