The Kent-Meridian Class of 2010 capped a busy four years on the academic grindstone by graduating June 12 from the Kent ShoWare Center.
A total of 304 seniors had achieved their goal – and a diploma – this year.
Giving the student address was Garren Moss.
“The Class of 2010 is the kindest, most understanding and whole-hearted group I have ever worked with,” Moss said, noting that K-M’s ethnically diverse population and openness made him think that “Not even Martin Luther King was to the point of dreaming what we have.”
Valedictorian Linda Camila Saucedo spoke to the difficulties, and the realization of a dream, as a student at K-M.
“I was alone in the middle, torn between two cultures,” said Saucedo, who immigrated to the U.S. from her native country of Mexico.
“K-M became the family I needed.”
