The fourth Kent Place Event Oldies at The Place event, featuring a workshop on Obamacare, dinner, music and dancing, is 5-8 p.m. Oct. 3 at Kent Senior Center, 600 E. Smith St.
Doors open at 5 for appetizers provided by Nellie’s Deli (compliments of SHAG Housing) before the 5:30 workshop entitled, How the Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare) Impacts Baby Boomers. The presenter is Carolyn Smith, staff member from the Washington State office of Insurance Commissioner.
For appetizers and guaranteed workshop seating, tickets are $5 for the first 80 guests, $8 after if purchased on or before Sept. 27. After that date, tickets are $8 if space is available. Call 253-856-5150 weekdays to purchase with MasterCard or Visa.
At 6:45 p.m., all who attend the workshop may have their ticket stamped for a free boxed dinner (compliments of Farrington Court) and free dancing or listening to live oldies music by Mark Stern (compliments of Stafford Suites).
Free workshop-only coupons may be available before Sept. 27 and the day of the event if space is available.
