The Take Out Tuesday noon concerts and Date Night Wednesday concerts start up this week at the Kent Station shopping mall, 417 Ramsay Way.
The free concerts are from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesdays July 9 to Aug. 13; and 6-8 p.m. Wednesdays July 10 to Aug. 14.
Kent Station Soulful Sounds of Summer are offered in partnership with the City of Kent. During the concerts, collections will be taken of food, clothing and cash for the Kent Food Bank.
Here is the lineup:
• Tuesday, July 9, Noon – 1 p.m.
Impossible Bird, a Seattle-based upbeat alt-folk duo has come together in one formidable pairing: Fiddle, guitar, voice.
• Wednesday, July 10, 6-8 p.m.
Haggis Brothers, a foot stomping, fiddle driven string band that plays regularly around the Seattle area.
• Tuesday, July 16, Noon – 1 p.m.
Keith Knight, considered by many to be one of the finest finger picking guitarists in America, Knight breathes new life into Appalachian, ragtime and delta blues, and Americana music
• Wednesday, July 17, 6-8 p.m.
Raucous Band, pronounced “Rock Us presents an energy-packed, audience-friendly performance playing a wide variety of classic rock and dance music
• Tuesday, July 23, Noon – 1 p.m.
Scott Cossu, a mix of jazz and classical music with ethnic influences from this acclaimed musician, composer and recording artist
• Wednesday, July 24, 6-8 p.m.
Swing Session Big Band, a 17-piece band features some of the best talent the area has to offer, and with featured vocalists Joey Jewell and Trish Hatley. The music of mirrors the philosophy of its bandleader, Jim Kerl; accessible melodies that swing hard and leave the audience and band wanting more
• Tuesday, July 30, Noon – 1 p.m.
Bottom Line Duo, best described as light humor with serious music, this husband and wife team combines the warm depth of the double bass with the melodic beauty of the cello
• Wednesday, July 31, 6-8 p.m.
Gypsy Soul, a cross between Sheryl Crow and Eva Cassidy meets Coldplay and Fleetwood Mac, the sound ranges from full-on Americana Heartland Rock to Blues, County, R&B and even a little bit of Gospel. Anchored by singer/lyricist Cilette Swann’s earthy and passionate three and a half octave vocals and composer/arranger Roman Morykit’s multi-instrumental virtuosity, Gypsy Soul leaves their audiences spellbound.
• Tuesday, Aug 6, Noon – 1 p.m.
Reilly and Maloney, the enormously popular duo of Ginny Reilly and David Maloney are together again, delivering their signature brand of acoustic, contemporary folk
• Wednesday, Aug 7, 6-8 p.m.
Darren Motamedy, a world renown saxophonist who will excite your inner music heart and soul to the delight of pure pleasure and enjoyment. Once you hear him play, you want to hear him again and again
• Tuesday, Aug 13, Noon – 1 p.m.
Rod Cook and Toast, blues, rock, country, Americana, surf and American roots music
• Wednesday, Aug 14, 6-8 p.m.
Little Bill and the Blue Notes, a Northwest original will have audiences singing the blues. “Little Bill” Englehart has been a fixture on the music scene in the region since he first started playing in the mid-1950s.
