Sister’s Summer School, the latest of the sinfully funny Late Nite Catechism series comes to Kent’s Spotlight Series on Friday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Kentwood Performing Arts Center, 25800 164th Ave. S.E., in Covington.
Part catechism class, part stand-up routine, Late Nite Catechism is a serious of comedic, interactive one-woman shows. This time Sister is not happy. The diocese has decided to offer a summer school catechism course for students who weren’t paying attention all year. Instead of three relaxing weeks at the motherhouse, Sister is stuck with her students this summer. And summer is already rough enough for Sister – try wearing 50 pounds of gabardine in 90-degree heat!
Sister will discuss such questions as, “Did Jesus have to go to summer school? And “What is an appropriate summer vacation for a practicing Catholic?”
Tickets are $28 for adults, $26 for seniors and $15 for youth. Tickets are available at www.kentarts.com, by calling (253) 856-5051 or in person at the Kent Commons (525 4th Ave. N.). Hours for phone and in-person sales are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Box office is closed on Sunday.
Spotlight Series is presented by the Kent Arts Commission and Kent Parks, Recreation and Community Services, and supported by the Washington State Arts Commission and 4Culture. Sister’s Summer School is sponsored by Curran Law Firm in honor of Pat Curran. For information call (253) 856-5050 or visit www.kentarts.com.
