The Kent Valley Figure Skating Club and Learn to Skate present Our Very Own Nutcracker On Ice at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 at the Kent Valley Ice Centre.
The show, originally scheduled for Dec. 23, was postponed after a fire in an electrical panel late Sunday morning shut down the skating rink at 6015 S. 240th St., for one day.
“Fortunately, there was minimal damage to the rink, and all of our props and costumes were safe,” said Myriam Desaunois-Mullen, president of the Kent Valley FSC.
The show consists of 40 cast members of all ages and showcases skaters of all abilities.
Proceeds from the show funds the club’s scholarships and activities throughout the year, ensuring that every figure skater can get access to competitions, skate camps and other events.
Admission at the door is $10 for adults 18 and older, $5 for students and seniors over 60, and children 5 and under are free. Presale tickets at $8 and $4 are available online at kentvalleyfsc.org or on Facebook.
Bring a nonperishable food donation and receive a free raffle ticket.
