Get your sneakers ready because it’s almost time for the annual Seahawks 12K Run at the Landing.

The event, which is in its ninth year, will be held Sunday, April 15 and will include a 12K run, a 5K run/walk, a non-competitive half-mile Kids Run and a block party with free games, activities and entertainment.

A portion of this year’s race proceeds will benefit Pete Carroll’s “A Better Seattle” (ABS) initiative, according to a press release. ABS funds and supports the deployment of the YMCA of Greater Seattle’s Alive & Free program. This program provides trained street outreach workers to serve youth impacted by gangs, violence and the juvenile justice system in South King County.
