Sweet outing set for wine lovers

Castle Bridge Winery will offer a special Valentine’s event, “For the Love of Wine and Chocolate,” 4-7 p.m. Feb. 13, and noon to 5 p.m. Feb. 14. At the event, couples can taste four wines and enjoy a bag of chocolate hearts, then choose two bottles of the wine of their choice with personalized labels. The cost is $30 per couple. Quartet will sing to valentines

A Federal Way Harmony Kings barbershop quartet will deliver singing valentines by request between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Feb. 13-15. Along with two “sweetheart songs,” the quartet also will bring a rose and a Valentine’s card to the special someone. The cost is $40 for an unspecified time, or $50 for a specific time (plus or minus half an hour). To place an order, call 253-838-0126 or 253-951-3814.

Symphony celebrates love

The Auburn Symphony Orchestra will celebrate Valentine’s Day with a concert titled “The Passions and Perils of Love” 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14, and 2:30 p.m. Feb. 15, at the Auburn Performing Arts Center, 700 E. Main St. Mezzo soprano Melissa Plagemann will perform with the orchestra. Tickets cost $20 to $25. For details, call 253-939-8509 or go online to the symphony’s Web site, www.auburnsymphony.org.

Stop and smell the roses in Kent

Gardeners can spend Valentine’s Day at the Kent Library, learning the ins and outs of growing roses. Master Rosarian Edward Pawlowski will lead a free hands-on seminar on the care, feeding and diseases of roses at 1 p.m. Feb. 14 at the library, 212 Second Ave. N.
