The Washington State Fair welcomes back R&B artist Charlie Wilson on Saturday, Sept. 21, part of the Columbia Bank Concert Series.
Some people might say that after notching 10 No. 1 singles, 13 Grammy Award nominations, a New York Times best-selling memoir and ongoing sold-out, coast-to-coast arena tours, Wilson has proven his point, but he isn’t planning to slow down anytime soon.
Wilson’s latest album, In It to Win It (P Music Group/RCA, Feb. 17, 2017), includes a 2019 Grammy nomination for Best Traditional R&B Performance for the track “Made For Love,” his enchanting duet with Lalah Hathaway. In 2018, Charlie was also nominated for three 2018 NAACP Image Awards, Outstanding Male Artist, Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration and Outstanding Album.
The set boasts two No. 1 singles which hit two different Billboard charts in April, 2018. “Chills” was No. 1 on the Adult R&B Songs chart and “I’m Blessed” ft. T.I. was No. 1 on the Hot Gospel Songs (and stayed in the top 5 for 65 weeks). This is the first time an artist has had two different No. 1 songs on these charts at the same time. “I’m Blessed” was also nominated for a 2018 Billboard Top Gospel song.

Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9. Prices are below and include fair gate admission. Tickets will be available on the fair website, or by phone at 1-888-559-FAIR (3247) daily, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the fair’s box office, 9th Avenue Southwest and Meridian Street (see website for hours). Online and phone purchases are subject to standard processing fees. Tickets purchased on site will be charged a $3.50 per ticket service fee.
