An interactive theatrical show entitled Wonderland: Alice Adventures, is set for 4 p.m. July 23-24 at Lake Meridian Park, 14800 S.E. 272nd St., in Kent.
A Seattle-based company called theater simple will put on the free show.
Inspired by the writings of Charles “Lewis Carroll” Dodgson, Wonderland is part performance piece, part art installation, part riddle hunt and all-out-fun, complete with tea party and cookies, according to a city of Kent media release. The audience, like Alice in the stories, will discover and interact with Wonderland and its spectacularly costumed characters, puppets, songs and dances.
The interactive, site-specific, all ages adventure was created by weaving together large-scale games, small-scale events and installation art.
Theater simple has been producing theater in Seattle, across North America and around the world since 1991. Wonderland is their fourth and most extensive site specific adventure. For more information, go to www.theatersimple.org.
The Lake Meridian Park performances of Wonderland are presented by the city of Kent Arts Commission with funding assistance from 4Culture. For further information, call 253-856-5050 or visit www.kentarts.com.
