The 737 MAX 7 joined the Blue Angels’ F/A-18s in the sky at the annual Seafair festival for the first time this summer, representing the company’s various products at this classic Seattle event.
Boeing employees on the 737 MAX 7 program were particularly excited to see their aircraft in action.
“Understanding the hard work our teams put it every day and then seeing the MAX 7 in the sky is such a phenomenal experience,” said Stephanie Deibell of the 737 MAX Business Operations team. “This is a huge payoff for all our hard work. Go Boeing!”
The 737 MAX 7 completed its first test flight in March 2018 and will be produced at Boeing’s Renton factory on the shores of Lake Washington. With a range of 3,850 nautical miles, the MAX 7 could fly nonstop from Seattle to Quito, Ecuador, and still have fuel left in its tanks.
The U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels, a team of blue and gold F/A-18s developed and produced by Boeing, also performed for Seafair spectators, flying in formation and executing thrilling tricks above cheering crowds.
The F/A-18 has a top speed of nearly 1,200 miles per hour, more than 1.5 times the speed of sound.
