A 2-year-old boy died after being run over by a pickup truck in the parking lot of a Kent apartment complex.
The incident occurred at about 8 p.m. Friday in the 27300 block of 129th Place Southeast, according to a Kent Police media release. The boy died from his injuries Saturday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The initial investigation showed that a 56-year-old Kent resident was driving through the complex on his way to work when the child ran across the road towards his father, who was on the other side.
Neither speed nor driver impairment were contributing factors in the cause of the collision.
“This simply appears to be a tragic accident,” officer Kevin Bateman said.
