The state Senate unanimously confirmed Kent attorney Mark Albertson to the Green River Community Board of Trustees on Feb. 26.
Appointed by Gov. Chris Gregoire, Albertson began his four year term Oct. 1.
Albertson is active in the Kent community, serving on the Kent Downtown Partnership board of directors. He is a member of the Kent Task Force on Homelessness and chair of the Seattle Pacific University School of Psychology, Family and Community advisory board.
His two children attended Green River, one as a Running Start student and one took classes before transferring to Washington State University.
Albertson is a partner in the Kent law firm Hanis, Irvine, Prothero, PLLC. He focuses on elder law, special needs planning and guardianships. Albertson is an accredited attorney with the Veterans Administration.
Albertson joins former Auburn superintendent Linda Cowan, local attorney Tom Campbell, former state senator Claudia Kauffman and Auburn mayor Pete Lewis on the five-member board.
