American Legion Post 15 celebrates 100 years

Kent community honors veterans on organization’s centennial anniversary

Special guest Kent Mayor Dana Ralph joined the American Legion Post 15 to celebrate its 100 years of service at Legion Hall on Sunday.

Post 15 is one of the original and oldest American Legion posts in the United States, receiving its Congressional charter in 1919.

Don Whittington, commander of Post 15, and all officers of Post 15 Legionnaires (in the photo) hosted the centennial celebration.

Post 15 is composed of Post 15 Legionnaires, Unit 15 Auxiliary, Squadron 15 Son of American Legion, and The Legion Riders Post 15.
