For the Reporter
Three people, one adult and two small children, were displaced following an apartment fire in the 25800 block of 26 Place S., Thursday morning, the Kent Regional Fire Authority reported.
The adult has been sent to a local hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation.
The fire was first reported at 9:09 a.m. bya 911 call and from the alarm company which monitors the system.
When firefighters from the Kent RFA arrived, they found smoke coming from a second-story apartment in the three-story building. An aggressive attack of the fire limited it to the apartment where it started, but there was a small amount of smoke in other units.
All of the units other than where the fire started were reoccupied within an hour.
According to the fire investigator, the fire started in the kitchen due to unattended cooking and is considered accidental.
Red Cross was requested to help the displaced family.
In addition to the Kent RFA, units from South King Fire and Rescue, the Burien Fire Department, and King County Medic One responded to the call.
