A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot Tuesday night, Feb. 20 in Kent along East Valley Highway, just south of South 180th Street.
Mohamed-Amin Farah died of a gunshot wound of the head while riding in a vehicle and the manner of death is homicide, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office Feb. 22 report.
Initial indications are that subjects in two separate vehicles exchanged gunfire, causing the injury to the teen, according to a Feb. 21 Kent Police news release.
Officers were dispatched at about 9:38 p.m. to the Valley Medical Center in Renton after hospital staff called 911 to report Farah with a bullet wound to his head, according to police. Dispatch advised that the teen had been dropped off by two unidentified males who then fled the area.
Hospital staff provided lifesaving medical aid, but Farah did not survive his injuries.
Officers located witnesses and evidence that Farah was shot on East Valley Highway, just south of South 180th Street, in Kent near the city border of Renton.
Detectives responded to the scene and are conducting an extensive investigation.
