About 1,600 students from the Kent School District graduated in ceremonies at the ShoWare Center last Saturday.
Around 70 percent of the graduates indicated they plan to attend a post-high-school institution, Superintendent Calvin Watts said in a speech during the commencement ceremony. Members of the Class of 2017 received $14.5 million in scholarships offered, Watts added.
