Residents can dispose of recyclable items that are not normally accepted at the curb at the city of Kent fall Recycling Collection Event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Hogan Park, 24400 Russell Road.
Instead of going to the landfill as trash, all items collected at the event will be reused or recycled. Among the items that will be accepted at the event are:
• Appliances
• Batteries
• Cardboard
• CFC Appliances – refrigerators, freezers, AC units
• Concrete
• Electronics (No TV’s or monitors – visit e-cycle Washington for more details)
• Mattresses
• Porcelain – toilets and sinks
• Propane tanks
• Shredding
• Styrofoam
• Reusable household goods and clothing
