Want to tell King County officials when they come to Kent which programs to keep or cut?
Residents can comment about the 2010 budget proposed by County Executive Kurt Triplett at a County Council public hearing at 7 p.m. Oct. 13 in Courtroom 3F at the Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center, 401 Fourth Ave. N.
Triplett proposed eliminating 367 jobs, closing 39 parks and making cuts to human services when he presented his budget Monday to the Council. Triplett also wants to get the county out of the animal-care and control business by the middle of next year to save $1.5 million.
The county faces a projected budget shortfall of $56 million in 2010 because of declining revenues.
