One man is dead after crashing his vehcile into a tree along State Route 18 in Federal Way early Monday morning, April 4.
The 22-year-old man from Des Moines died at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
Around 2:23 a.m., the man was traveling westbound on State Route 18 approaching Weyerhaeuser Way, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The man lost control of the vehicle, struck a tree and landed in an embankment off the road.
Wet roadway conditions caused the crash and drugs or alcohol also were factors, according to the State Patrol.
The man was wearing his seatbelt.
