Restaurant owners make annoucement Tuesday morning

Dick’s Drive-In location in Kent has closed until further notice after a second employee tested positive for COVID-19.

Dick’s made the announcement Tuesday morning, Nov. 3 on its Facebook page about the Kent location, 24220 Pacific Highway S.

“We are sad to report that another employee at our Kent location tested positive for COVID-19 and that location will be closed until further notice,” according to the post. “The employee was last in the building on (Saturday) Oct. 31. All employees exposed to this new positive case will quarantine immediately. We will be working closely with public health (Public Health — Seattle & King County) on next steps and will update you as soon as we know more.”

Dick’s also closed its Queen Anne location until further notice to quarantine all staff from that location who may have been exposed to the new positive test while helping to support the Kent location, according to Dick’s Drive-In.

The Kent location also closed the afternoon of Oct. 31 after an employee tested postive for COVID-19. Dick’s reopened Nov. 1 with staff from the Queen Anne location. Here is what Dick’s posted about that case:

“An employee at our location in Kent has tested positive for COVID-19,” according to a Dick’s Facebook post on Oct. 31. “The employee was last in the building on the night of Oct. 28. There was no exposure to our customers. All potentially exposed employees will quarantine starting immediately. Due to a lack of available staff the Kent location will close at 4:30 p.m. today (Oct. 31). All locations are regularly sanitized and sterilized, however we are conducting a deep clean of the the building. We will reopen as soon as we can transfer the needed staff from other locations. Thank you for your understanding.”
