For the Reporter
Kent Downtown Partnership brought a little different flair to celebrating Valentine’s Day in downtown Kent.
Frankie June, of Down Home Catering and chair of the KDP’s promotions committee, came up with the idea of selling candy grams and delivering them on Valentine’s Day. Charlotte Smith, of Catalyst Travel, volunteered to be her cherub partner and help deliver the candy grams.
Why would the cherubs want to do this?
“To make some noise and bring some Valentine smiles on people’s faces,” June said.
And that they did.
Lisa Vivian, of Eberle Vivian, said: “My staff loved this. You should have seen some of the surprised faces and then the big smiles. People are still buzzing about it hours later and are still unsure who sent them here.”
