APARTMENT FIRE: Kent Regional Fire Authority firefighters responded to an apartment fire at 6 a.m. Monday, June 20, in the 700 block of Washington Avenue North.
All residents in the apartment escaped without injury.
The fire was reported from a business across the street from the apartment.
The cause of the fire was determined to be cooking oil on a stove that ignited and spread to the rest of the kitchen. Two apartments were damaged with the estimate at about $20,000.
Four residents were displaced. The Red Cross is working to secure temporary living arrangements for them.

HOME FIRE: Firefighters from Kent Regional Fire Authority and Renton Fire Department responded to single family home fire at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, June 18, in the 10800 block of 233rd Place on Kent’s East Hill.
No one was in the home when the fire started.
Firefighters were able to limit the fire to the kitchen area, but the remainder of the home was damaged by smoke.
The cause of the blaze has not been determined and damage is estimated to be $150,000.
