Election Day has Mann and the King County Elections staff quick on their feet.

“Been busy all day, and I will be here until 8:30 tonight,” Mann said between picking up stamp-free, mail-in ballots from drivers. “I was busy yesterday.”

National, state and local races are up for grabs Tuesday as voters cast their mail-in ballots throughout King County and the rest of Washington.

Statewide, more than 2.2 million votes already have been cast, according to David Ammons, communications director for the Secretary of State Office.

Another ballot-return report will be filed around 5 p.m. today, Ammons said. Actual returns will begin posting shortly after 8 p.m., with most counties reporting by 8:30 p.m.

Your ballot must be postmarked no later than Election Day or returned to a ballot dropbox by 8 p.m. today in order for it to be counted.
