A court hearing has been continued again for a former Kentridge High School teacher charged with attempted commercial sexual abuse of a minor.

Brent Patrick Conley, 27, of Seattle, faces a May 20 hearing in King County Superior Court, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. A judge agreed with attorneys to continue the hearing from May 6.

A trial date could be set at the next hearing or attorneys could ask for more time to prepare the case. Conley pleaded not guilty to the charge in October and is out on bail.

Seattle Police arrested Conley in September outside of a Seattle McDonald’s as part of an undercover sting where a detective posed online as a 15-year-old girl seeking sex with older men in exchange for money.

Conley is no longer employed by the Kent School District. He was a first year English and social studies teacher at the school last fall until his arrest.

The former Kentridge teacher reportedly responded to an ad in a Casual Encounters section of a popular website featuring a title of, “Student looking for older men,” according to charging papers. Conley reportedly responded through email and started up a correspondence where he was told the girl was a high school cheerleader looking to make some money by having sex.

The conversations via email and text messages continued for two days and Conley reportedly agreed to pay $100 for sex. He agreed to meet her at the McDonald’s in downtown Seattle on Fourth Avenue. Officers observed Conley at about 7:06 p.m. on Sept. 18, arriving and parking at the agreed upon meeting location before making their arrest.
