Kent Emergency Management is accepting applications for the fall Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training program.
CERT is an eight-week class that helps civilians prepare for a disaster with classroom and hands-on training in: fire safety; terrorism; search and rescue; disaster medical; organization and disaster psychology.
Students can attend one of two sessions held each week beginning Sept. 18. Class times are 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6 to 9:30 p.m. All classes are held at local fire stations.
